Family Education Program
The Center for Child and Family Studies (CCFS) offers ongoing enrichment and entertainment opportunities to all families with young children living in Davis and the surrounding communities. Family Programs include education and community building for parents and caregivers, along with opportunities for learning and developing through play for babies, toddlers and two-year olds.
Parents/caregivers attend playgroups with their children. Hands-on coaching and parenting consultations are built into the program to ensure that parents and caregivers have access to information and opportunities for reflection that help them feel prepared for the inevitable challenges we all face during the early childhood years.
The CCFS family education classroom is located in Eichhorn Family House (152 Old Davis Road), which is nestled between the Early Childhood Lab School's main site and the arboretum path. The cost per quarter is $200 per family, with the option to use scholarship funds to cover all or part of the fee.

Tuesdays, 9:30-10:30 am April 7-June 9, 2026 for children ages 6 months-18 months. Babies and toddlers in this playgroup actively explore their environment, including one another!
Fridays, 10:15-11:15 am: April 3-June 12, 2026 (no playgroup on 4/24/26) for children ages 18-36 months. Children in this playgroup learn how to take turns with support and utilize other strategies for noticing and negotiating with one another in a space with shared toys and materials.
